28 June 1753, Lisbon – Notice from the Secretary of State advising the senate to vacate the houses above the Church of Saint Anthony. The keys were to be sent to the Secretary of State.
By the order of Paulo de Carvalho, Secretary of State and brother of the Marquis of Pombal, the city senate vacated the building of the Church of Saint Anthony in 1753, relocating to the Estaus Palace in Rossio. The 1755 earthquake would completely destroy this new building.

Sua Magestade he servido ordenar, que as cazas sitas sobre a Jgreja de Santo Antonio, em que se tinham as conferencias do Senado, e as que ficão defronte dellas, sejam logo despejadas, ajuntando-se as contas ao Jnquilino Francisco da Silva, e pagando-se-lhe qualquer resto, em que se achar o credor do Senado, que no cazo em que o seja para que, dezocupadas todas as sobreditas cazas, sejam as chaves dellas remettidas a esta Secretaria de Estado, onde serão entregues ao Official mayor Felippe Correa da Silva Deos guarde a Vossa Excelencia Paço 28 de Junho de 1753.
